Step 2:
Parents then go to edmodo.com themselves and select the ‘parent’ option for account set up (they will see options for teacher, student and parent on the main screen) |
Step 4:
Parents should spend some time familiarizing themselves with the features that are now available to them within Edmodo. At this time, parent Edmodo accounts are set up for one way communication only. Parents are able to view all group posts and direct posts that have been sent to their own child. They also can view posts sent from the teacher to the collective parent group. Parents are unable to reply to any posts or send any messages of their own within the Edmodo environment.
Parents are able to view the class calendar, upcoming assignment due dates, overdue assignments, student grades and the accompanying anecdotal comments from the teacher. If a parent has more than one child using Edmodo, they are able to simply add additional students to their existing parent account, as there is no need to set up additional accounts. There is also an ‘Edmodo for Parents’ app that can be downloaded for free so that parents can access their account from their mobile device.
